Hello deviants! Here is your Community Projects update for March/April 2012.

Table of Contents:

What are Community Projects?

Community Projects are part of the life of deviantART. Each year deviants come together from across the globe to collaborate on projects, the goals of which range from raising awareness and fundraising for charity to providing team-building or skill-building activities, and more!

In my role as Community Projects volunteer, I am here primarily to help facilitiate various ongoing projects on deviantART. My role is to support you, the deviant, not just by running projects of my own but by supporting your projects.

So if you have a project you'd like to start, check out our guide here! If you're looking for a project to participate in, just click "Community Projects" over in the sidebar to the left, that's where we list all ongoing Community Projects.

Busy busy!

I regret that I've been rather busy over the last several months, and as such some of my goals for Community Projects revamps have fallen short. Don't fret, though, I'm working on a battle plan now to get back on track and we should have things rolling smoothly again in the next few weeks!

Community Projects Guide

Despite being a busy bee, we did manage to get our first portion of the Community Projects guide up! Check it out here. Let me know if you have any suggestions for improvements, I'd love to hear them!

Category Structure Improvements

Waaaay back I posted a journaljournal asking for opinions on some proposed changes to the way we structure our Holidays category.

I'm happy to say that those changes went through quite a while ago! And they seem to be going over fairly well. Did you miss the announcement? Check it out here

Daily Deviations

As many of you know, I'm super duper picky when it comes to Daily Deviations! Well, I wouldn't say picky. I just tend to focus on different aspects of Community Projects, namely the projects themselves! That's not to say there aren't amazing deviations posted to the Projects gallery, I just like to look at the whole picture, and it's all the deviations within a certain project that make a community project truly special.

That said, occasionally there comes along a deviation so awesometastic that I have to feature it! In those cases, my DD Guidelines live here

Also, I still love to get suggestions for the Projects gallery! So feel free to send them.

Project Listing

We maintain an ongoing list of Community Projects here. If we're missing any projects, please let me know by note! I'll be glad to add it.

Coming Soon

Like I said, life got in the way, but I'm getting things back on track! Those same rockstar deviants from last time will hopefully be working with me on some awesome guides to publish regarding running a project.

In addition, I'm working with some other rockstar deviants on some really awesome project ideas that they'd like to run! I don't want to spoil the surprise now, so you're just going to have to keep an eye on my journal and communityrelations for more details. ;)

Let's keep 2012 going strong!

It seems like life has been getting in the way for a lot of us.

It's awesome to hear that you're getting back on track.
